I simply love it when sex toy brands innovate.

Let’s be honest – the market for sex toys is a bit oversaturated at the moment.

Finding something like a good wand, a clit vibe, or a rabbit vibrator can be pretty damn hard when there are literally hundreds of toys out there.

This is precisely why I love it when a brand delivers something completely new to the table.

And the luxury sex toy company LELO has done just that – they have just released LELO MONA Spectra, a G-spot vibrator with Red Light Therapy capabilities.

The idea here is this – you get to enjoy the fun times with a vibrator while your vulva also gets the Red Light Therapy treatment. This directly leads to better blood flow and relaxed pelvic muscles.

This, in return, will theoretically give you immediate, short-term benefits of better orgasms.

With long-term use, the supposed effects include everything from better natural lubrication to more resilient vaginal walls.

There is a lot to unpack here and I haven’t been this excited about reviewing a LELO vibrator in a while.

Something that feels good while also giving me a sort of “hyper vagina”?

Hell yeah!

In this LELO MONA Spectra review, I’ll give you all the scoop on how it felt and whether Red Light Therapy in an intimacy setting is something even worth exploring or not.

What Is A Red Light Therapy Vibrator?

LELO MONA Spectra

In red light therapy, specific wavelengths of light are used to go through the skin and stimulate the cells. This “powers up” the cells and improves skin health, makes healing from injuries quicker, and even promotes hair growth.

Bottom line – red light therapy has lots of supposed benefits.

The feedback for RLT ranges from life-changing to being chucked together with various hokey alternative medicine practices that have nearly zero real-life effects. Generally speaking though, people tend to get at least some positive health benefits from RLT.

Me? As a sex toy reviewer, I am open to trying anything.

How is the concept of RLT delivered in a vibrator though? Well, LELO MONA Spectra is a G-Spot vibrator that has panels of light on it

You have your fun with it and the goods from RLT are delivered directly to your vulva.

The red light setting is the default, but you’ll also get near-infrared, blue, and green light options in the LELO app.

All of these settings have slightly different benefits which we will cover later.

LELO MONA Spectra Out Of The Box: Tempting Shape And Red Lights

Box contents of LELO MONA Spectra

LELO MONA Spectra comes in a sleek matte black box. Minimal, understated, but still elegant.

May seem like a minor detail in the grand scheme of things, but I love a good unpacking experience. And this is precisely what LELO has offered here.

In the box, you’ll find the following items:

  • LELO MONA Spectra G-Spot Red Light Vibrator – It comes in white and looks immediately tempting. I adore those smooth ribs running all over it. Usually a sign of good-things-to-come when it comes to G-spot vibes.
  • USB-charging cord
  • A Satin pouch for the vibrator. A lovely touch!
  • A small pack of lube. Another lovely little treat for ensuring a great first experience.
  • Warranty registration card
  • An instruction manual

I let it charge for a while and then got around to exploring what LELO MONA Spectra has to offer.

My Personal Experience With LELO MONA Spectra: Red Light Therapy Masturbation

LELO MONA Spectra box

First impressions holding it?

Sleek and fits in the hand very well. And as I already mentioned – I love those ribs on it. All in all, this is erotic design at its finest!

That said, we can’t judge a book by its cover. There are vibrators out there that look the part, but ultimately don’t deliver in the pleasure department.

As far as technical details are concerned, you have a total of 16 intensity levels and 8 settings to play with here. The controls for flicking between the settings are conveniently placed on the handle of the toy.

I long-held the power button and…whew, here we go. Those famous lights!

Frankly, I was surprised how bright the lights were. They are not screechy though – the red light feels intense, but still soothing for the eye.

And yes, there is a definite kink element to knowing that this bright wand will play with you in a few moments.

Now, I did take my time and used it for external stimulation before entering. I loved it.

The vibrations from the MONA Spectra definitely lean on the rumbly side. And the transfer to body is great here.

I slid the MONA Spectra all over my vagina without ever entering. With a particular focus on the clitoral area and the sides of the vagina. If I kept this going, it would have probably been enough for me to orgasm.

I kept going though.

I need to feel those lights inside me!

When sliding in, smoothness would be the best description for my first impressions.

There’s already the extra hotness from knowing this neon-like wand goes inside you, but it becomes even more sizzling when I feel how smooth it is.

There’s just the right amount of pressure on the G-Spot. In fact, the very peak of my testing was when I held it inside me and just let the vibrations do its thing. Without virtually any movements from me.

It’s that beautiful, warm, slightly pressured feeling. If I wanted to be less poetic, I’d describe it as something like “wanting to pee, but in a good way”.

How about the Red Light capabilities though?

Well, it definitely does feel different.

Not sure whether it’s RLT or not, but my vagina felt very relaxed through the entire experience. An almost tingle-like feel.

The whole thing was, for a lack of better wording, an effortless road towards an orgasm.

…speaking of orgasms, let me try describing what RLT orgasms are like.

What On Earth Does Red Light Therapy Infused G-Spot Orgasm Feel Like?

I mentioned that holding the wand inside me and just letting it vibrate away was one of the favorite parts of my experience.

Eventually, I added a bit of a movement to the mix. Super slow and deliberate sliding inside me. And I also slightly twist it in my hand to feel the ribs of the vibrator.

This kind of movement made me come pretty quickly.

The orgasm had a radiating quality to it.

It comes from within and then “flows” all over the vulva in pleasant waves. Again, not saying that this is related to the wavelengths of light, but there is a different, relaxing kind of quality to this orgasm.

Potential Benefits Of Red Light Therapy

Red Light Therapy has many, many benefits to it.

In the context of a G-Spot vibrator, here are some of the ones that are the most relevant:

  • Improved tissue elasticity and collagen production – In layman terms, long-term use of RLT in intimate settings can lead to firmer and resilient vagina. I feel like I personally had no issues in that department so I can’t comment here. As far as combating vaginal aging though, RLT may be something to consider.
  • Improved natural lubrication – These days, I am generally good when it comes to wetness. However, I have had hormonal issues in the past and it did effect my wetness levels quite a bit. Would be good if RLT was able to help if I was to ever deal with dropped vaginal lubrication again.
  • Blood circulation improvements – This is where I could say that RLT had an immediate effect. I definitely felt a bit more sensitive (in a good way) than usual with MONA Spectra. It felt as if there was a tingle there. As if my vagina was “perked up” a bit.
  • Maintaining vaginal microbalance – Anything that helps keep the vag healthy is worth it in my book. And wavelengths do have potential antimicrobial qualities to them.

LELO MONA Spectra For Couples: Use It In The Bedroom!

Even if Red Light Therapy had zero health benefits, I’d still love using it. And one of the key reasons is how well it works for a couple’s scenario.

You see, it’s that damn light again.

I love seeing glimpses of my partner’s body and the action in that sheer yet smooth red light.

If I was at all into exhibitionism, I’d love having a video clip of me and Adrien having sex in that red light glow!

And yes, it can be used during penetration as well. Just hold (or let your partner) hold the MONA Spectra against your clit while getting penetrated and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Where To Get The Best Price For LELO Mona Spectra?

LELO’s official homepage is the resource you want for the most competitive price for MONA Spectra and other LELO’s toys.

Not only is the pricing the best in the official resource, but you’ll also avoid fakes and get to register your toy for warranty terms.

Sometimes, it is a good idea to search for deals on the grey market. This is not the case for LELO though – here, going official is nearly always the best route to take.

LELO MONA Spectra is one of the most ambitious and interesting vibrators to hit the scene in a while.

Is it worth the somewhat hefty price tag though?

I’d say it is. Even if those light wavelengths were nothing but a gimmick, I’d still love this G-spot vibe simply because of how well it plays with my body.

Not to say that these lights are worthless. I definitely feel my “key areas” to be a bit more relaxed yet sensitive than usual when having fun with the MONA Spectra.

Long-term benefits? I guess we will wait and see.

As I said, I will personally be using this one regardless of whether RLT actually does anything or not.
